Al Badiyah Mosque

Al Badiyah Mosque is the oldest extant mosque in the United Arab Emirates where prayers still take place, in addition to tourists’ visits.

The Badiyah Mosque is also called the Ottoman Mosque, it is located in the Emirate Fujairah. The date of the Badiyah Mosque’s construction is uncertain, but people proposed that it is built in the 15th century. The mosque is built of mud and stone, no wood was used in its construction. The mosque covers a total area of 53 square meters. The mosque has got no minarets but four squared domes that are supported by only one central pillar. The pillar divides the prayer hall’s space into four equal squares.
