Jaafar Toukan

Jaafar Toukan is an architect of double nationalities from Palestine and Jordan. Jaafar was born in Jerusalem in 1938. He is the son of a Palestinian poet Ibrahim Toukan, Jaafar is well known for following the modern designs in the Arab world. Engineer Jafar has contributed to major projects in most of the Arab countries, especially in Jordan. He received a bachelor's degree in architecture from the American University in Beirut in 1960. Among his most prominent projects is El Dar projects in the Gulf, in addition to President Yasser Arafat’s shrine, the Arab Insurance Company in Saudi Arabia and the Institute of El Dar El Hadith in El Medina, Jaafar has won the Medina Award for Architecture because of this project.
