The Dubai Fountain

The Dubai Fountain is the biggest choreographed fountain in the world. It is located at the lake of the Burj Khalifa. It was designed by WET Design, the American based architectural company.

The construction of such a huge fountain cost them 800 million United Arab Emirates Dirham (AED) which equals 218 million American dollars. The Dubai Fountain was opened with the Dubai Mall on the 8th of May 2009.

The Dubai Fountain is 275 meters long, and it has got many high-pressure water jets and shooters: oarsmen or water robots that can shoot the water up into the air at the height of 152.4 meters high. It is illuminated by 6,600 lights and 25 colourful projectors. It can shoot 83,000 liters of water. The water is shot into the air with a musical background, some of the tracks are in Arabic and others are in English, resulting in a magnificent musical performance. These musical masterpieces take place every day that astonish the visitors.
