Al Hamad, Secretary General of Gulf Engineering Union

The Supreme Council of the Gulf Engineering Union gathered in the Cooperation Council of the Arab Gulf Countries in Doha, Qatar. The council decided during the meeting to choose the candidate of Saudi Arabia, Engineer Kamal bin Abdullah Al Hamad, to be the secretary general of the Union. The Supreme Council of the Union was held in the presence of the official delegations of the heads of the Gulf engineering bodies.

The President of the Saudi Council of Engineers, Dr. Jamil Bakaaoi, declared that the Saudi Council endorsed the work of the Union for the 2016 Plan, and the start of its strategic transformation program to be able to strengthen its role in the sustainable development of the Gulf Cooperation Council, which aims to develop the practice of engineering professions and strengthening the role of the Gulf engineering bodies through participation in the development of legislation, regulations and laws for the practice of the engineering profession to meet the requirements of construction and development.

Dr. Bakaaoi reported that the choice of the candidate of Saudi Arabia, Engineer Kamal bin Abdullah Al Hamad, was due to his efficiency and the degree of his professional and scientific rehabilitation, as well as his practical experience gained during his tenure when being the Assistant Secretary-General of the Gulf Engineering Union and the General Director of the Saudi Council of Engineers for the Eastern District and the consultant of its Board of Directors.  He also played a key and valuable role in the establishment and development of the Gulf Engineering Union since its inception in 1997.

Futhermore, Dr Bakaaoa expressed his thanks and gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the princes of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and to his Excellency the Minister of Commerce and Industry for their continued support for their young Saudis engineers. Engineer Al-Hamad also extended his gratitude to the President of the Saudi Council of Engineers, and the heads of the Gulf engineering bodies, praying to perform his duty to the fullest, and to preserve the Gulf Countries and sustains its glory under the leadership of their righteous governments.
